"It happened in 2004 after I had won at the German championships. It is an unwritten rule that if you win there you get to ride in Aachen [the 2006 World Equestrian Games]. Right ahead of the show I was told that somebody else would get to go instead, and that was kind of turning on the lights for me. Riding for Ukraine I would at least get the possibility, and show myself." In January 2016 she decided to switch back to competing for Germany. When and where did you begin this sport? She took up the sport at age seven at a riding school in Germany. She began jumping at age 16.
Why this sport? She always loved horses, and once she began riding she was hooked.
